An Autopsy is when a coroner (or medical examiner) cuts open a dead body to find out how the person died.

Autopsy's can be gruesome, the medical examiner starts through cutting through the skins to expose muscle and organs, he/she then removes all the internal organs (if they are being donated) and then moves onto the brain, where the skull is cut open and the brain is removed from from it's stem.
