Columbia University in the City of New York, usually referred to simply as Columbia University is a large, private Ivy League university founded in 1754 by George II of Great Britain. It is the fifth oldest university in the United States and the oldest in the state of New York. It lies primarily in the Morningside Heights neighbourhood of Manhattan. It currently serves mostly graduate students, with about 15,000 graduate students compared to only about 7,000 undergraduates. It's medical school is affiliated with New York-Presbyterian Hospital.

Columbia is the alma matter of Eric Foreman, who maintained a perfect 4.0 grade point average as an undergraduate.
