Cynthia Ellen Nixon is an American actress, best known for her role as Miranda Hobbes in Sex in the City. She portrayed one of House's most challenging patients - Anica Jovanovich, a woman with Münchausen syndrome in the Season 2 episode Deception. She has won two Emmy awards, a Grammy award and a Tony award (one of only 14 people to have won these three).
Nixon has been acting since the age of 13, including "Afterschool Special" type programs on all three major networks. She appeared in the short lived series Tanner '88 at the age of 22 and revived the character 16 years later in Tanner on Tanner.
