Kathryn Felicia Day is an American actress known for taking on "geeky" roles, often in nerd culture shows. Known for her signature (dyed) red hair and freckles, she portrayed the main character Codex in The Guild and is Penny in Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog, both primarily online productions. For The Guild, she also served as the script writer and producer.
Day has something in common with the character Martha M. Masters. At the University of Texas, she excelled in both the sciences and the arts by studying a double major in Mathematics and Music. She can play the violin at the expert level and only turned down a spot at Julliard (which she received at the age of 16) because U of T offered her a full scholarship. She graduated at the top of her class and served as valedictorian.
She has approximately thirty acting credits, numerous writing and production credits. Guest spots include Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Monk, and Dollhouse.
For her appearance on House, she played Apple, a woman who received a corneal transplant that inadvertently included stem cell cancer in the episode Not Cancer.
