Lin-Manuel Miranda is a Tony Award and Grammy Award-winning composer, rapper, lyricist and actor. On House M.D., he appeared as Alvie in "Broken" and "Baggage" in season 6. He is most famous for writing and starring in the Broadway musical "Hamilton", which opened on Broadway at the Richard Rodgers Theater in 2015. He played Alexander Hamilton.

Miranda started his film career in high school, when at the age of sixteen he wrote, directed and acted in Clayton's Friends. After graduating from Wesleyan University, he formed Freestyle Love Supreme, a hip hop comedy troupe. In 1999, Miranda started work on "In the Heights," a broadway musical nominated for 13 Tony Awards. In addition to his work onstage, Miranda has worked as an English teacher, columnist, and restaurant reviewer. Miranda's music was featured in the 2016 Disney film Moana. "How Far I'll Go" received an Oscar nomination for Best Original Song.

"Mary Poppins Returns" in which Miranda plays a lamplighter, is slated for a December 2018 release.

Miranda lives in New York with his wife, an MIT graduate genius science lawyer and superhero in her own right, and two children.
