Mira Katherine Sorvino is an Academy Award winning American leading actress. On House, M.D., she portrayed Cate Milton, the psychiatrist stranded at the South Pole in the Season 4 episode Frozen.
Sorvino grew up in show business as the daughter of veteran character actor Paul Sorvino. She started her career in the television series Swans Crossing in 1992, but made her first major impact in a supporting role as a ditzy hooker who befriends the main character in Woody Allen's Mighty Aphrodite in 1995. The appearance won her an Academy Award and a Golden Globe for Best Supporting Actress and launched a career of primarily leading roles in movies and television. She has had featured roles in Beautiful Girls, Norma Jean & Marilyn, Romy and Michele's High School Reunion, Mimic, The Replacement Killers, Too Tired to Die, At First Sight, Summer of Sam, The Great Gatsby, The Final Cut, Human Trafficking, and Reservation Road.
