Physiotherapy, also known as physical therapy, is a profession responsible for the management of a patient's movement. Physiotherapists conduct examinations of the patient and work toward alleviating impairments and limitations. A main aim in their job is to avoid additional injury and disability, and a large part of their job is consulting and educating patients.

Direct interventions by physiotherapists include, in addition to education, therapeutic exercises and the application of physical agents such as massage and hydrotherapy.
