Psychology is the scientific study of human behavior and its interaction with the brain. It deals with both conscious and unconscious phenomenon, as well as abstract concepts such as thought, emotion and intelligence. It's one of the four cornerstones of diagnosis and one of the guiding principles behind psychiatry, particularly the treatment of mental illness and behavioral disorders.
