The reproductive system describes the parts of the mamallian body that are dedicated to the conception and incubation of the fetus. In women, this includes the ovaries, fallopian tubes, uterus and vagina. In men, it includes the testicles, scrotum, vas deferens, uethra and penis. The medical specialities dedicated to the female reproductive system are obstetrics and gynecology. The medical specialty dedicated to the male reproductive system is urology.

As egg and sperm cells, as well as the fetus, will be treated as foreign tissue by the immune system, the reproductive system is isolated from the immune system. However, this isolation is also what allows sexually transmitted diseases to establish themselves in the body without triggering an immune response.
