Shohreh Aghdashloo (born Shoreh Vaziri-Tabar) is an Iranian born Emmy award winning actress who emigrated to London during the Islamic Revolution in 1978 and subsequently settled in the United States. She may be best known to U.S. audiences from her role as Dr. Kavita Rao in X-Men: The Last Stand. However, she has a long career that started in Iran in 1976, and she was nominated for an Academy Award for her role in House of Sand and Fog alongside Ben Kingsley and Jennifer Connolly.
