The University of Michigan (often just referred to as Michigan) is a large state supported multi-disciplinary university primarily located in Ann Arbor, Michigan, with satellite campuses in Dearborn and Flint.  It houses over 27,000 undergraduate students and a further 12,000 graduate students.  It has over 500,000 alumni, one of the largest alumni groups of any university in the world.

Its medical school was founded in 1850 and is now part of the University of Michigan Health System, an academic medical center.

Lisa Cuddy was an undergraduate at U of M. Gregory House graduated U of M's medical school.
